Skeet 2018/17

The West Midlands Inter-Counties Skeet was held at Doveridge on 16th September.
The Ladies team of Sarah Johnson and Danielle Simpson won the Silver medal on 162/200. The Senior team just missed out on the medals by 1 clay, finishing 4th on 470/ 500. The Veterans team where also just out the medals. Well done to all who took part in testing conditions.

The Skeet County Championship was held at Doveridge on 15th July. In Very warm sunny conditions Alan Barnes won the County Championship on 98/100, with James Wood runner up on 97/100 followed by Andrew Dixon on 96/100 and Max Small on 95/100. Veterans Champion was Paul Hallam on 97/100 followed by Geoff Farmer on 94/100 and Billy Parkin on 93/100. In the Ladies Julie Havill retained her title on 95/100 with Sandy Greener on 84/100. Well done to all winners .

The Skeet Doubles County Championship was held at Nottingham & District Gun Club on 24th June. County Champion was Steve Pinch on 95/100 followed by Chris Havill on 92/100. Veterans Champion was Geoff Farmer on 93/100, with Gary Webster runner up on 92/100. Ladies Champion was Danielle Simpson 84/100.  Well done to all winners.

The first Skeet Team selection was held at Nottingham & District Gun Club on May 20th. In sunny conditions the top scorers in the Seniors were Max Small, Chris Havill and Alan Barnes all on 97/100, closely followed by Geoff Flint on 96/100. In Veterans Paul Hallam shot 97/100. In the Ladies Julie Havill was the top scorer on 93/100 followed by Sarah Johnson and Danielle Simpson both on 81/100.

Congratulations to Alan Barnes who won the West Midlands Area Skeet Championship held at Doveridge on 6th May. Alan winning the trophy after a shoot off with Ian Parkinson both on 100 straight. Well done.

Well done to the Derbyshire Ladies Skeet team of Julie Havill- 94, Charlotte Hawksworth – 89, and Danielle Simpson – 74 on winning the Bronze medal on 183/200 at the West Midlands Inter Counties at Doveridge, also to the Veterans team of Paul Hallam- 94, and Billy Parkin – 93 on winning the Bronze medal on 187/200. The Senior team where just out of the medals on 473/500 in fifth place. Joint Team High guns where Alan Barnes and Steve Pinch on 97. Thank you to Steve Pinch on Sponsoring the new Skeet team Polo shirts.

Congratulations to Alan Barnes who finished runner up at the British Open Skeet Championship held at Nottingham & District Gun Club over 18/19/20th August. Alan shooting 100 straight plus 25 and just missing out in the sudden death shoot off on pairs on four. Well done Alan.

The 3rd Skeet team selection was held at Nottingham on 13th August. Top scorer in the Seniors was Alan Barnes on 98/100 followed by Geoff Flint on 97/100 and Steve Pinch on 96/100. In the Veterans Paul Hallam was the top scorer on 94/100 followed by Gary Webster on 91/100. Top of the Ladies was Charlotte Hawksworth on 82/100 followed by Danielle Simpson on 72/100. Well done to everyone who shot this selection.

Congratulations to Notts on winning the Skeet leg of the Help 4 Hero’s Friendly Challenge. The two shoots raised £500. Thanks to Carl and his staff at Nottingham & District Gun Club for holding these events.
