Lol Pinch Winners

The Lol Pinch Memorial Sporting Shoot was held at Nottingham Sporting Clays on Sunday 9th October 2016. Shot over 70 targets, Keith Roe set the early pace on 59/70, until Barry Fox came in with 61/70, Steve Pinch then went one better with 62/70, Ken Rimington then took the lead on 63/70 until Paul Hallam joined him shooting on the last squad. Tom Tristram was Junior Champion on 60/70, Ladies Champion was Liz Shanks on 53/70 retaining her title and Colts Champion was Matt Hall on 54/70. In the resulting shoot off for Champion Ken took the title 9 targets to Paul’s 8, giving Paul the Veterans title.

The F.I.T.A.S.C County Championship was held at Kegworth on Sunday 9th October 2016. Champion was Nick Hendrick on 91/100, with Tom Miller runner up on 89/100 followed by John Dunne on 85/100. Veterans Champion was Keith Roe on 86/100 with Geoff Farmer runner up on 73/100. Ladies Champion was Sandy Greener on 59/100 and Junior Champion was R Lofley on 68/100. Well done to you all.

The West Midlands Inter Counties Sporting was held at Doveridge on 11th September. Shot over 15 stands Derbyshire’s Senior Team of Adam Cork 94, Nick Hendrick 94, Tom Miller 92, Andrew Roe 89, Keith Wood Jnr 82 and Mark Fisher 81 who finished on 451/500 to win the Parker Hale Trophy, from runners up Staffordshire on 447/500, with Hereford & Worcestershire and Warwickshire joint 3rd on 432/500. The Senior B team finished 6th on 423/500. B team scores are as follows – Peter Brockley 91, Max Small 88, Julian Brockley 87, Chris Ford 79, Simon Roe 78 and Tristan Yeomans 76.

The Veterans Team of Keith Roe 89, John Sims 77 and Adrian Hope 73 finished joint 3rd on 166/200 with Gloucestershire.

The Ladies team of Sandy Greener and Karen Braithwaite both on 61, finished on 122/200 in 6th place. Well done to you all.

Well done to Keith Roe who was part of the winning England Veterans Sporting Team at the Home International held at Westfields on 10th September.

The Sporting County Championship was held at Doveridge on 31st July 2016. Shot over 14 stands Tom Miller, Nick Hendrick and Adam Cork all returned to the club house on 92/100, a shoot off was required to decide who would be County Champion. With Nick not available for the shoot off, Tom and Adam shot off for the title with Adam taking the shoot off 15/20 to Tom’s 13/20. Veterans Champion was Adrian Hope on 85/100 with Keith Roe runner up on 81/100. Ladies Champion was Sandy Greener on 64/100 with Karen Braithwaite runner up on 60/100. Well done to all winners.

Derbyshire Veterans team won the Gold medal on 180/200.  John Sims shot 91, Adrian Hope 89 and Albert Hopkinson 64.  Derbyshire Ladies finished in 5th place with Jackie Fox on 69 and Jackie Hemming on 66.  Derbyshire Juniors finished in 4th place on 134/200 with Josh Richardson on 73 and James Roe on 61.  Well done to new caps Jackie Hemming, James Roe, Josh Richardson, Max Small, Keith Wood jnr and Ian Platts and to all Derbyshire Shooters who took part in this event.

The Sporting County Championship was held at Kegworth S.G on 29th July.  In warm, cloudy weather mixed with the odd shower 58 Derbyshire shooters tackled the 13 stands. Tony Bott set the early pace with 91/100; this was matched by Martin Finch. Keith Roe on 93/100 looked like taking the title until the last few shooters returned, Jason Allaway on 94/100 piped at the post by Nick Hendrick on 95/100.  In the Veterans Keith Roe won the title on 93/100 with Steve Wood runner up on 85/100 followed by Adrian Hope on 82/100 and Colin Earp on 81/100.  Junior Champion was James Roe on 55/100.  Ladies Champion was Jackie Fox on 68/100 followed by J Hemming on 62/100 and Claire Rowlands on 59/100.  Well done to all winners.

Congratulations to Nick Hendrick who won the English Open All Round at Northampton S.G on 14th July. Nick shooting 96/100 to win the title.  Well done Nick.

The 3rd Sporting team selection was held at Oakedge Shooting Ground on 17th June. Tony Bott was the top scoring Senior on 92/100, followed by Max Small on 91/100, Nick Walker on 88/100, John Sims on 85/100 with Stuart Haywood and P Anthony on 84/100.  Adrian Hope was top of the Veterans on 79/100, followed by John Knight on 74/100 and Keith Wood Snr on 72/100. Top of the Juniors was J Richardson on 60/100.

The F.I.T.A.S.C County Championship was held at Kegworth S.G on 10th June. Shot over 6 layouts Steve Checketts won his first County title with a score of 89/100, followed by Bill Jowett on 82/100.  Veterans Champion was Keith Roe on 81/100, followed by Barry Holmes on 76/100.  Ladies Champion was Jackie Fox on 69/100, followed by Janice Barnett on 57/100. The 2nd Sporting team selection was held at Grange Farm on 13th May.  Top of the Seniors was Nick Hendrick on 94/100, closely followed by Jason Allaway on 93/100 and John Sims on 91/100. Top scorer in the Veterans was Keith Roe on 87/100 followed by Adrian Hope on 82/100 and Geoff Farmer on 77/100. Top of the Colts/Juniors was James Roe on 49/100; Top Lady was Jackie Fox on 57/100.

Following the recent resignations of Sporting Team Managers Peter Waller and Frank Glassbrook, Sporting team selections will be done by Geoff Flint (Chairman).  Team selection will be any 3 scores from 3 selections and County Championship.  Scores will be worked out on Points as per C.P.S.A. England team selections e.g. High Gun 92 = 0 points 82 = 10 points.  Ties for team places will be decided by County Championship score with highest score taking team place.  County Championship is not a compulsory shoot.

The first team selection was held at Kingsley Moor on April 8th.  Shot over 13 stands Nick Walker was top Senior on 87/100 followed by Chris Ford 86, Tristan Yeomans 84, Jim Hollingsworth, Keith Wood and G Fletcher all scored 83.  Albert Hopkinson was top Veteran shooter on 86/100 followed by Keith Wood (Snr) on 72 and Neil Coxhead on 68.

Top Junior/Colt was James Roe on 47/100.  James is 14 years old and this is his 1st year shooting registered shoots. Well done James.
